Dictadent

The 170 numbers of a periodontal chart, spoken instead of typed.

Dictadent lets dental hygienists and dentists dictate at the chair, hands-free. A strict parser checks every pocket depth and reads it back while the probe is still in the mouth. The record is picked up on the PC, pasted into the practice system and wiped. Early access: a prototype for test data, practitioner tests first.

The problem

170 numbers, held in memory, typed afterwards

A periodontal chart is six pocket depths per element, about 170 numbers. With gloves on, the phone cannot be touched, so the numbers are held in memory or on paper and typed after the session. Hygienists who work alone have nobody to type for them. Elsewhere, an assistant types while the dentist calls out. By five o'clock, patients blur together.

Why buy

Speech for the numbers, with no guessing

The periodontal chart is the workflow other dictation tools leave alone, and the largest time loss for the buyer who decides alone. Dictadent keeps language models out of the number path: a pocket depth drives a diagnosis, so the parser refuses anything ambiguous. Needing no integration, it is built to sit beside any practice system.

  • No AI in pocket depths; ambiguous input is refused
  • Hands-free: each element number confirms the one before
  • Simplex M is being phased out; hygienists are choosing now
Trust & data
No audio is ever stored. Records wipe on Klaar or after the practice's window, default eight hours, and every deletion is logged.
Built to keep patient names off the server. Nothing is written straight into the patient record, and practitioners are never judged.
Prototype for test data only. EU speech processing and a processor agreement come before any real patient data.

Your brand on a chairside tool, without building it

  • Partner, practice and user levels with your own logo and colours on every environment.
  • Recurring revenue per practitioner; bring your own AI key or resell Khaya Credits.
  • No integration to build or maintain: records paste into any practice system.
Growing firmFor the single-handed dental hygienist and small practice

Speak the chart. Keep your gloves on.

  • Priced per practitioner per month, so a hygienist working alone pays for one seat.
  • A phone at the chair and the PC you already have; no IT project.
  • Large read-back type, legible under the treatment lamp with loupes on.
Enterprise & large consultancyFor dental chains and large group practices

One privacy standard across every chair

  • Branding, templates, retention and DPIA ownership set per practice under one partner tenancy.
  • Records are visible only to the practitioner who made them. No scoring of staff, ever.
  • Works beside your existing practice system, so there is no EPD migration.
How it works
  1. 01

    Start

Log in on the phone at the chair and label the treatment. Labels with a date of birth, BSN or e-mail address are refused.

  2. 02

    Speak

Say "sixteen, three two three, two three four". The microphone stays on for the whole chart; the phone is never touched.

  3. 03

    Check

A large read-back confirms each element. Naming the next element locks the previous one. Errors say exactly what to repeat.

  4. 04

    Finish

Say "klaar" and the chart is stored with an expiry set by the practice, by default eight hours.

  5. 05

    Paste

Pick it up on the PC within seconds, paste it into the practice system and press Klaar to wipe it from the server.

Pricing

Per practitioner per month, so a single-handed hygienist pays for one seat. The price is set with early-access practices. AI use runs on Khaya Credits; the periodontal chart itself uses no language model.

How to start

Join early access as a practitioner tester or design partner. First step: a test with invented charts in a real treatment room, suction running.

Availability

Early access in the Netherlands, in Dutch. Not yet for real patient data: EU speech processing and practitioner tests come first.
